Blue Mountains Photoshoot

Catching a flight to the Blue Mountains for a weekend of shooting Bob Brown on Fantastic Mr Fox (33), we had to wait the first two days due to weather conditions.

When the weather got better, we headed out to Diamond Falls in a frosty 5 degrees, crossing a frozen tree on the way in.

We rigged the static up off the chains of Grey Area with a redirect through the traverse bolt on Sneaky Old Fox. Whilst shooting, the first attempt and working burn was spent in the morning shade which provided some nice, flat light but the shots got a lot better as the sun came around, providing some depth in the shadows and higher contrast images. An interesting moment was when the sun peaked behind the clouds for a second and essentially created a giant softbox while still keeping the brighter light on the athlete.
